Canine Cupids is a registered 501(c) 3 charity recognized by the federal government as a not-for-profit organization publicly funded by donations, fundraising events, and proceeds from merchandise purchases. We are 100% volunteer based.  DATCPLicense: 288601-DS

Canine Cupids' mission is to protect and improve the lives of the homeless, neglected, and exceptional needs dogs in the greater Milwaukee area and to place them in permanent, loving homes.

Canine Cupids vision is to work with animals, within our community, and throughout our organization is guided by three core values: compassion, integrity and dedication.

Because every animal deserves to be loved, we feel it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless dogs.

We strive to work with MADACC (Milwaukee Animal Control), Waukegan Animal Control, CACC (Chicago Animal Control), North Chicago Animal Control, as well as other rescues and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets within Milwaukee and close by.

WHY CANINE CUPIDS?

Canine Cupids is a group of passionate volunteers dedicated to the well-being of animals in Milwaukee. Our goal is to save dogs of all sizes and breeds by placing them into loving, forever homes. We are an ALL volunteer, foster home based, certified 501c3 dog rescue organization based in Milwaukee. We do not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate through our foster homes.

Our "singles" come primarily from local animal controls where overcrowding and overpopulation is a concern. Simply put, we try to help the dogs that need it the most.

We are dedicated to assisting with the local overpopulation problem by giving as many unclaimed dogs the chance they deserve to live a long and fulfilling life in a mutually loving and respectful home.We never euthanize animals due to space or time constraints, but we may elect to euthanize in the event of a severe, untreatable/debilitating illness or extremely dangerous behavioral concern. This is only considered as a last resort!

At Canine Cupids our founding principle is that "ALL dogs are individuals and deserve to be regarded as such." This mindset is at the core of the belief system at The Animal Farm Foundation. It assists in securing equal treatment and opportunity for all dog breeds, regardless of size, color, etc."We owe it to all dogs to see them for who they really are, free of prejudice, stereotypes, and assumptions that are based on a known pedigree, a breed label guess, physical appearance, or their past history.

Breed related traits are not guaranteed. If a dog does conform to breed traits that does not mean a dog isn't an individual! Breed characteristics may contribute to a dog's individuality, but they are not the whole story." *Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a dog by its stereotype!Just as every person is affected by their past environment, so is every pooch. "Each dog has a distinct set of needs and behaviors that are determined by a wide variety of factors: including genetics, breeding, socialization, training, management, and environment." *

Let joy and happiness fill your heart and your canine's, too....by finding the perfect canine companion!
